Shared hearts

After that long night I decided that I had to get up for school. Of course I hadn't slept well because I couldn't stop thinking about all those things that had happened the past few days. However, I finally got up, used the bathroom, got dressed and was ready, or not for school. Hannah had just woken up and she told me she wasn't coming with me because she was so bored and sleepy. She's a sleeping beauty herself anyways.

That's what I did then. I set off to school. I was not so excited to go but I really didn't want to miss it. I had to do well that year if I wanted a bright future, which I didn't see it coming.
I don't know why but that day, the school looked empty, with no life. Or was I the one who was empty with no life? I really didn't know but something wasn't right. Everyone looked miserable, or maybe I did. Everyone looked so strange, like something had happened, like they had just found that their wannabe mum wasn't actually their real one, like I had. I suddenly felt that everyone and everything was being connected to my life. Or maybe that was all some kind of bullshit that came out of my head unexpectedly.

Thank god school finished quickly and I decided to go to the library to study there. I hadn't been to the library for a long time so I kind of had missed it. I had missed being there in complete silence and studying or reading books or listening to music. I've had great times there. I wanted to listen to Taylor Swift who's my favourite because I was in such a good mood for her songs. I put the playlist on and started studying. After a while I heard a very well-known voice.

<< Well well well...>>

Of course it was him, who else would had been.

<< You know, we haven't really met actually>>

<<You already know my name though>>

<<Would you like to learn mine as well, love?>>

<< As if I have another choice>>

<< I'm Ryan>>

<<Nice to meet you, I guess>>

<< Not so happy to see me, are you?>>

<<Not really to be honest>>

Of course I was happy to see him, but I had to be a little tough, sorry not sorry.

<<So tell me, what brings you here?>>

<< I was about to ask the same question>>

<< Well I asked you first>>

<< Fine. I just came here to study, I like spending time here>>

<< As surprisingly as it sounds, I like spending time here too>>

<< I find it hard to believe, you basically came to this school a few days ago>>

<< Well you know, we had a library in my other school too. I always loved to go there and find peace>>

<< I wasn't expecting that from you>>

<< Let me guess, you were picturing me like everybody else did like I was the tough, hot, school bad boy>>

<< You could say that>>

<<Trust me love, I'm not that cruel>>

<< I didn't call you that>>

<<You didn't have to, most people judge a book by its cover, in that case that book is me>>

<<I'm sorry to hear that>>

<<No you're not>>

<<Yes I am. Trust me, I know very well how it is to feel like an outsider and have everyone hating on you>>

<< And how do you know?>>

<<Long story>>

<<Care enough to tell me?>>

<<Not today, maybe another time>>

<<So you're claiming there will be another time>>

<< For what?>>

<<For this thing we're doing here>>

<<You mean talking?>>

<<Basically, yeah>>

I suddenly felt my cheeks turning red and I could feel the heat slapping me in the face. I finally took the courage to answer clearly his question.

<< Well yes, there will be another time>>

<< Good to know. Are you blushing?>>

<<No I'm not>>

<<Yeah sure>>

I put back on my playlist and continued studying as he was never there. I could feel from the side corner of my eye that he was staring. What did he want this time?

<<Can I help you with something?>>

I immediately regretted what I said because I think I knew the answer very well.

<<Actually you can>>

Oh no I thought. What now?

<<With what?>>

<< You know, since I have this bad reputation surrounding me, I want to do something to prove everyone, including the teachers, that I'm not that big of a jerk they think I am>>

<<And how can I help you with that?>>

<<First of all, Mrs. Clark has assigned me an essay and I need to finish it as soon as possible>>

<<And you expect me to do the whole essay on my own, don't you?>>

<< Of course not, I'm not that kind of guy who does that, I only want you to help me>>

<<Deal>>

<<Great>>

<<What do I get for return?>>

<<Whatever you want>>

<<You sure about that?>>

<<Yes>>

<<Alright, I'll think about it>>

I immediately felt something connecting our lives and making them one. Apparently, there's seems to be a very good chemistry between us and I liked that. I felt like we had shared hearts which urge us to be in the same room, breath the same air and exist in the same universe. That made me realize I wanted to say something which I might had regretted in the future.

<<You know what, you're not like what I thought you'd be>>

<<You mean I'm better than what you expected me to?>>

<<If that's what helps you sleep at night>>

<<Trust me, it does>>

<<Get over yourself>>

<<Can't do that,love>>

<<Well, try harder>>

<<Yes ma'am. So that means that we will be meeting again for chit chat?>>

<<Who said that?>>

<<Your face betrayed you, honey>>

<<We'll see about that, mister>>

<<As you wish>>

And after that he walked away, leaving my thoughts hanging around my head like helpless strings. Did I enjoy my day? Of course I did. Was it interesting? Hell yeah, it was. After that long conversation, I want to spend some more time with him. I'm not sure if this will lead to a good ending but let's leave the future for now and focus on the present. I have to say that I'm a bit excited to help him with his essay because that means spending time with him. Just the two of us. And the truth is • I can't wait.
