The question leaves my lips and I force myself to hide my nerves with a smile, switching the side of my hair I brush. I'm a bit scared of what Louis will say when I tell him Zayn is here, but he agrees to come inside without hesitation. Unsuspecting.

"Thanks, I just have to finish my hair and then I'm ready..." I trail off and drop both of my arms to the side as I let him in. Hesitantly, I continue, "There's something else."

He quirks a brow in question. "Yeah? What's up?"

Once I shut the door behind the both of us, I make sure to stay standing in front of it so he can't barge out as I inform him, "Zayn is over."

There's the longest pause ever between my words and Louis lunging for me, attempting to push me aside in order to open the door. He does everything he can to move me away from the door, but I hold my ground. We continue to tussle until he grips my arm so hard that my reflexes kick in, or rather, kick him.

"Fuck, Hayley." He doubles over and grips his shin where my foot made the impact.

"Sorry! I swear I didn't mean to kick you."

I let my guard down to make sure he's okay and it's a mistake because the second I move slightly away from the door, Louis lunges again and grabs the handle. I try to stop him because he's not even letting me explain any further past 'Zayn is over.' However, he opens the door and darts all the way down to his car. I'm hot on his heels.

"Louis!" I call his name when he runs away from me on purpose, going in circles around his car. "Stop acting like a child and come back inside."

"No!" He yells and runs to the other side of his car when I attempt to approach him. The neighbours are going to think we're insane.

"Louis William Tomlinson!" I full-name him and he immediately freezes. "Jesus Christ, why are you running around in circles? What do you hope to achieve?"

"I didn't want you to catch me." He places one hand on the side of his car and thankfully stays put.

"You didn't even let me explain."

"Zayn is inside right now?" Louis questions.

I sigh, almost out of relief that he's finally letting me speak. "Yes, and if you just come back inside I can—"

He cuts me off. "No."

"What do you mean 'no'? I haven't even asked you to do anything yet!" I throw my hands in the air out of frustration, realising I still have my brush in my hand but I have half a mind not to throw it at Louis.

"You want me to come back inside and I'm saying no. I don't want to see him." He seems very adamant but I'm not going to give up just like that. Sure, I should probably just respect that he doesn't want to talk to Zayn. But this has been going on for years and I'm tired of it. Tired of the fighting. Tired of the planning things and having to be sure it's at times where the two won't be in the same vicinity. Tired of him asking about Zayn, but the second he gets the opportunity to speak to him, he quite literally runs away.
