Sunday

It's been a rough few days but grace is now home.

I wake up at 11am to a knock at my door.

"Come in" I say in a raspy morning voice

"Hi" Mum says walking in

"Morning" I say

"How are you?" She asks

"What's wrong?" I ask confused

"What do you mean?" She says

"You never ask how I am let alone talk to me" I point out

"Can't a Mum just talk to her daughter" she says sitting in my bed

"You haven't just talked to me for 8 years at least" I say

"Fine, me and your father are going away for a week so you have to look after grace and take her to all of her hospital appointments" she says

"I do that anyways" I say

"Don't he sassy with me" she says

"Ever since grace came here you won't have anything to do with her and neither will dad" I say

"That's not true" she says

"When have you ever driven grace to school, or taken her to the park or an appointment?" I question

"Don't do that" she says

"Too late, go enjoy your expensive holiday and me and grace will live like we usually do" I sigh

"Great thank you, we will send you a post card" she says and skips out and closes my door

"How did I end up with them as parents" I sigh falling back down on my bed

I must of fallen back to sleep because I jolt up when I hear my phone beeping.

I get up and check it

Work

It reads and I groan and get ready

I walk downstairs and there is a note on the kitchen bench

I smile and grab my car keys and dive to work.

I work at a small cafe a few minutes out of town and it's good because know one from school knows it.

"Hi" I smile as I walk into the kitchen

"Hey" my co workers smile.

I go though and grab my waitress apron and head to the front of house.

"A group of teens just walked in there all yours" says one girl I work with

"Okay" I say looking around for the group and as my eyes lay on them my whole body shivers
"Okay not okay" I say to the girl whose name I can't remember
