Chapter 69

Yeona's POV

It's been a few days since SM confirmed my relationship with Ten on our behalf, and I have to say, things have calmed down a lot, mostly because our true NCTzens have shut down all the haters for us.

In fact, the fandom is so chill with us that Ten has deemed it safe for us to go out in public together. I was a little hesitant about it at first, mostly because of how cautious and anxious I can be, but he managed to convince me that it was going to be fun.

Although, I have no idea where he's trying to take me because he said it's supposed to be a "surprise". All he told me to do was bring a jacket... We'll see what he has planned for us this time.

"Bye Luna!" I call, waving back at my cat. She blinks lazily at me, then directs her gaze back to Louis and Leon in Ten's apartment. I sigh and shut the door behind me. "Wow Luna, still ignorant and biased towards your friends."

~Time Skip~

"Alright, we're here," my boyfriend announces, stopping the car.

I look at the building for a moment or two before realizing that he's brought us to an indoor ice rink. Honestly, I'm not that surprised, considering that he's an ace at sports like these and probably wants to share his passion with me.

"Of course. See, summer has just started and we both know you prefer winter, so I'm taking you somewhere cold, right?" he asks. At my impressed nod, he adds, "My logic is never flawed and my memory never fails me. Come on."

I laugh, following my excited boyfriend into the building. I think it's considered pretty empty for an ice rink; Maybe it's because everyone else is outside enjoying the "nice", overly warm weather, but I mean, more space for us.

It takes us a few minutes to change into our skates, mostly because I'm so slow at tying my skates that Ten ends up doing it for me. I guess this is what happens when you go skating for the first time with your boyfriend, who's an experienced skater.

"Alright, now stand up," he tells me. I comply and almost fall down before finding my balance and carefully making my way towards the entrance to the rink in my heavy skates.

There aren't too many people on the ice, but the fact that someone of them seem like beginners is relieving. Now I won't be the only person wobbling about on the ice and probably falling down.

"See, you can hold onto the wall and get onto the ice now... I'm rusty, but let's see if I can still skate," he says, then steps onto the ice without even using the technique that he just taught me.

I sigh, placing one of my feet on the ice. It's, well, slippery, like I expected it to be. However, I didn't expect it to be so hard to move on the ice, leaving me clinging onto the wall like a child.

"So... are you gonna help me?" I ask, slightly embarrassed by my inability to skate. I don't know if Ten can hear me, mostly because he's gracefully gliding on the ice far away from me.

"Oh right," he says, sliding to a stop in front of me. "You know what, just take one of my hands, hold onto the wall with your other hand, and then use one of your skates to push yourself forwards while keeping the other one on the ice."

I follow his instructions. To my surprise, I manage to actually move forwards on the ice a little. Repeating the action, I'm able to move even more. "Alright, I think I sort of know how this works now."

With Ten's help, I sort of get the hang of skating after a while. "Wait, there's something I want to try," I tell my boyfriend, letting go of his hand and doing my best to glide away from the wall. I wobble and almost fall, but manage to balance myself before I do.

Ten watches me in confusion as I continue away from the wall. "Wait, be careful, you're going to fall and break a bone or something-"

"Please, I just want to pretend that I'm in '90's Love'," I explain, then lose my balance and fall onto the ice. "Okay, that didn't go as planned."
