Quick wee note for this one; Charles is obviously older than his current age (think possibly early 30s) so just keep that in mind or else you may be slightly confused.

"Daddy, can you come to my Show and Tell?"

It was already turned out to be a bad day for the Leclerc family; Y/N had just travelled to Nice Cote d'Azur Airport to drop Charles off so that he could travel to Russia for the Grand Prix, and now she was late to pick Julia up from school. Julia was their 9 year old daughter and the apple of their eye. She wasn't overly late for Julia but enough that she would be a bit upset. As she pulled up outside her school in the centre of Monte Carlo, Y/N could see Julia standing with her teacher outside the school doors and at the sound of the Ferrari pulling up, Julia lifted her head and ran to the car shouting her goodbyes to her teacher who waved in response. "Hi honey, have a good day?"

With a sigh Julia shook her head. Y/N glanced towards her with a puzzled expression as usually Julia loved school. Thankfully, it didn't take long to get home as the city wasn't big which made traversing it rather quick (if traffic was good), and as soon as they arrived home Y/N gave Julia a hug and sat with her in the living room. "What's the matter?" Y/N asked softly.

"It's Parent's Afternoon on Monday, we're all going to be doing a show and tell but Daddy's not going to be able to be there." She said softly while rubbing her eyes. It was evident how upset this had made her and she was even more emotional today as she usually was when Charles had to go to races, and they couldn't attend.

"Oh honey, there will be more Parent's Afternoons and daddy will be able to attend them ones, but we can record this one so that daddy can watch it when he gets home. But we can make this one the best show and tell they've ever saw." Y/N said with a smile causing Julia to giggle and to ensure that she wasn't upset anymore, Y/N began to tickle her stomach and it wasn't long before she was a mess of giggles on the settee but she had the biggest smile on her face which was enough for Y/N.

As Y/N put Julia to bed later that night she rang Charles, she and Julia had been on FaceTime to him earlier, but this conversation wasn't for Julia ears. As Y/N finished filling Charles in on what the day had entailed after she dropped him off, he let out a sigh. Y/N knew that Charles hated being away from his family, but he was in the height of his career; he was leading in points for the world championship and he was the current 4 time World Champion. She knew in a heartbeat that he'd retire from racing if he knew that his family was upset but she also knew that Charles loved racing so much that Y/N could never make him retire. It was during this phone call that they hatched a plan; Charles knew he wasn't going to be able to be there in person as he had been scheduled to stay an extra day in Sochi for Ferrari media work but that didn't mean he couldn't be there over FaceTime.

As Monday came around, the Leclerc household was still living off the excitement from the weekend; Charles had won the Russian Grand Prix furthering his lead in the Championship Points. When Y/N dropped Julia off at school, Julia waved with a huge smile as she ran into the school and it seemed that that smile had survived the day as by the time Y/N had returned for the Parents' Afternoon, Julia's smile still stood. Briefly speaking to her teacher, she forewarned her that Charles would be making a video call so that he could talk to Julia's and her class which she was utmost pleased about having taught Charles himself almost 25 years earlier, and so Y/N sneakily logged into skype on the school computer. As the afternoon grew on, it was soon Julia's turn and Y/N felt sorry for anyone to had to go after hers. Julia set up her Show and Tell; a photo PowerPoint that Y/N had helped her create of photos from the Grand Prix's she'd attended and with Charles' permission she'd been able to bring in one of his World Champion trophies. She started her Show and Tell by introducing herself and what she was going to talk about.

"Hi my name is Julia Leclerc," She said as she stared at the brief script she'd written with Y/N's help on cue-cards and at the last word she glanced up at her fellow classmates and their parents in front of her, "I'm going to talk about my dad. His name is Charles Leclerc and he drives racing cars for Ferrari." She moved onto the next card and continued. "He can't be here today as he's in Russia for the Grand Prix, but he'll be home tonight. I like my dad's job because when I don't have school, I get to go to the races with him," At Julia's command, her teacher started the slideshow and Julia began to tell her friends about the photos, "This is me and dad at Monza a few weeks ago and this is me with Lando Norris at the Belgium Grand Prix. That's me in my dad's car. I was too small for it so I couldn't reach the pedals. And this is me with Max Verstappen and Alex Albon during Silverstone in Summer. I like travelling with my mum and dad to the races. It's lots of fun."

As Julia continued her Show and Tell, Y/N could tell from the looks of the parents surrounding her that some of them were unaware that Julia was Charles' daughter and some of them even looked somewhat jealous that she was able to go to the races and they couldn't. Y/N found it quite funny that some grown up adults were jealous of a 9 year old. Just as Julia was about to finish, a skype request came through on the whiteboard. She turned to look at her mum, "Mum? Is dad calling? I want to talk to him!" She let out a squeal of excitement at the possibility of talking to her dad. Julia's teacher accepted the call and Charles' face appeared on the screen – this was all it took for Julia's classmates to let out squeals of excitement at the chance of being able to talk to a Formula 1 driver.

"Hi Julia! Hi Julia's classmates! How are you all?" He said and received about a million replies to which he just laughed. He was sat in an airport lounge waiting for his flight, which he informed the class he was doing. "Any questions?" Due to the insane amount of questions he received, the teacher took control and allowed the children to ask one at a time.

"Did you enjoy the race?"

"The race was very good. It was good to win after having to retire the car in Singapore."

"What do you have to wear in the car?"

"Uh ... we have to wear fireproof clothing, our racing suit and shoes and the helmet, and gloves."

"Does the car use the same petrol as my mum's car?" The mum in question's face blew up in a blush as the child singled her out by pointing at her.

"I wouldn't think so. We have a special type of petrol that is created for the cars to make them go super-fast."

"How fast do the cars go?"

"Around 320kmph give or take." The children let out gasps of excitement while some of the parents went wide in shock of the actual speed of the cars, sure they'd seen the cars at the Monacan Grand Prix but that race never showed the true speeding capabilities of the car due to it being a street circuit. This time a child directed their question to Julia, "Have you ever been in the car?"

"No," She let out a sigh of disappointment, "Daddy says its too dangerous but in a few years I can. I've been karting and I've sat in the car, but I can't even do a hot lap yet because I'm too young."

"Few years and then you can have a go, Julia." The questions kept coming and eventually Julia's teacher had to intervene and cut the presentation short as there was still a few kids left to go. "I'll see you in a few hours, Julia! Love you Y/N, love you Julia!" Charles said his goodbyes to the rest of the class and hung up. As Julia finished her Show and Tell her classmates applauded her and she took her seat back on the carpeted floor and let the next student begin their presentation. It was safe to say that Julia's presentation made an impact and no other presentation compared to hers but all she could concentrate on was the huge hug she was going to give her daddy when she saw him later.
