"I don't want us ... this, to be a secret anymore"

~~~
                              You'd been in relationships before and they'd been pretty bog standard but nothing could prepare you for the whirlwind that was being Lewis Hamilton's girlfriend or well nothing could prepare it for you because to the rest of the world there was no relationship because Lewis had insisted on it being a secret, something about your dad being his boss preventing him from spilling the beans and so your relationship consisted of mostly secret rendezvous' at the track, in hotels and everything in-between.
It was the weekend of the German Grand Prix, Lewis had qualified pole position (a regular occurrence for the Mercedes driver now-a-days) and to celebrate yourself and Lewis had arranged to rendezvous at your hotel room at 22:00. That time had been and gone; he was late but by 22:30 he had finally arrived. It seemed that these days that arguments between the two of you were becoming more regular and they all revolved around one particular topic: the secrecy of your relationship. You wanted to at least tell your dad and the team so then you wouldn't have to be so distant on race weekends, but Lewis still stood firm on his insistence of nobody knowing.
"Lew ... what don't you understand? I don't want us ... this, to be a secret anymore." You pleaded with him as he sat on the bed and you knelt in front of him so that he could only focus on you and see how passionate you were about the topic at hand. He let out a sigh and ran his hands through his hair.
"Why though? Don't you like having all this privacy? If we go public ... if we go public, we'll have none of this."
"That's not important though! I want to be able to hug and kiss you and be by your side all weekend. I don't want to have to hide anymore!" You pleaded with him.
"Fine, ok. If I win tomorrow, we'll tell your dad." You let out a sigh of relief, this is all you wanted and finally Lewis was actually listening to you, "You had better win then." You teased as you crawled up the bed to join him where he sat against the headboard, you ran your finger up his chest, tracing his jaw and using your finger to turn his head to face you. You stared at each other before you leaned in and pressed your lips to his in a kiss as he wrapped his arms around your waist to pull you against him.
It was horrific. Lewis had finished 9th; still in the points but it was disappointing, he had the perfect opportunity to win another race but today just wasn't the day. You had been waiting at the garage to comfort Lewis, but he had stormed past you into his driver's room and you didn't want to follow him as to raise any suspicions from his team but it was unbeknownst to you that your father had been watching the scene play out with a suspicious look on his face as he watched your gaze follow Lewis as he stormed down the hall. Twenty minutes later, Lewis still had emerged from his room but thankfully the garage had cleared out enough for you to sneak into his driver's room to comfort him. You knew he'd be very frustrated with himself as in his eyes he had basically thrown away the race win.
"Lewis, it'll be ok. No one is going to judge you based on one race!" You told him as you sat beside him on the grey settee in his room and ran your hand up and down his arm, he held his head in his arms which were propped up on his thighs.
"But this is Mercedes home race! I wanted to do them all proud!" You stifled a bit of a laugh which caught his attention as he snapped his gaze from the floor to you and furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. It wasn't like you to laugh at him when he was disappointed in himself.
"Lew ... listen to me. No one is disappointed in you. You saw those conditions, you did well." You convinced him and finally a grace of a smile erupted on his face and he leaned across the settee to give you a kiss. "Now, let's get out of here. We've a team dinner to get ready for." You knew technically that since Lewis hadn't won the race, he had no requirement to tell anyone about your relationship but that didn't mean that he couldn't be convinced otherwise.
You sat beside your father at the dinner table in the restaurant that Mercedes had booked a reservation under and Lewis sat beside you much to your father's amusement as he had been indicating for Lewis to sit on the other side of him, and so Valtteri took that seat instead with his wife, Emilia, taking the seat beside him. The dinner continued as any other team dinner had before or well that was until Lewis placed his hand on your thigh and gave it a squeeze which surprised you, causing you to bounce your knee upwards to hit the table. The commotion attracted the attention of those around you, in particular your dad who eyed you as you sheepishly smiled to everyone.
"Ok, out with it," Your dad said all of a sudden to you as the meal came to an end and people began to trickle out of the restaurant. Your eyes widen and you shook your head in shock as you turned to look at your father, Lewis doing the same beside you. "Did you really think you could hide it?"
"Hide what?" You asked feigning confusion, you had grasped what he was trying to get you to admit and as much as you'd love for your relationship to be out in the open, it was a conversation that needed to happen between you and Lewis first and then with your father.
"Don't kid yourself. I've noticed a lot over the past few weeks including new things between yourself and Lewis."
"Ok, ok, ok. Y/N and I are in a relationship and we just didn't know how to tell you." Lewis finally said throwing his hands in the air as a universal sign of giving up. Toto raised his eyebrows in mock shock before throwing an arm around your shoulder and pulling you into an embrace.
"You know I only wants what's best for you and for you to be happy." He replied and with that he stood up to leave, leaving you and Lewis to be the only Mercedes people left in the restaurant.
"That went smoother that I thought it would be." Lewis said.
"And you were worried for no reason."
