Madison lies awake that night; the early family gathering brings a smile to her expression.
She doesn't toss nor turn, simply sighing contently.
A message comes through, vibrating her phone to life. She reaches over, a frown soon replaces her smile as Rita's name sits in her notifications.
Rita: I left him.
Her heart rate picks up, quickly.
Madison: Left who??
Rita: Jamie. I left him. Can I see youl?
Madison: Are you insane?! What do you mean LEFT him??
She jolts upright in bed; phone still clutched firmly in her hand.
Rita: I couldn't do it any longer, Maddy. Please. I need to see you.
