Madison returns that evening, a smile lingering to her lips, eyes sparkling like a million shooting stars, rapidly flying along with her thumping heart.
She was happy.
"Its nearly seven," Kimberley stops her daughter, just as she walks through the front entrance, startling Madison into her death.
"Don't do that." The teen clutches her chest, taking in a few deep breaths.
"Why so jumpy?" The Mother raises an eyebrow, questionably.
Madison's eyes shift, a frown soon adoring to her natural pouty lips.
"You... Just... Scared me?"
"What took you so long?" Kimberley switches the question, "Follow me into the kitchen." She walks back in, the teen rolling her eyes and following her Mother's orders.
"Well?" Kimberley stands in the middle of the large kitchen, standing right in front of her daughter, the questioning in her eyes doesn't settle well in Madison's sudden frantic heart.
"What?"
"Answer my question."
"What's your question?" Madison asks, seemingly confused with her Mother's unexpected interrogation.
