Author's POV
"See that wasn't so bad." Cheryl says to her daughter as she closes the door for the night.
Madison shrugs, walking with her Mam to the kitchen. "They're probably talking crap about me right now." She half laughs, knowing it was probably true.
"Aw babe, I'm sure that's not true. Come, have a sit down with us. I'm craving something sweet." She says, walking over to the freezer and pulling out a pint of haagen dazs ice cream. "You know what I've always wanted to do?" Cheryl asks, grabbing two spoons and taking a seat beside her daughter on the kitchen table.
"What's that?" Madison accepts the spoon and indulges in the frozen sweet with her Mam.
"Have girl time with me daughter, just like this, having ice cream and talking about anything on our minds." Cheryl shrugs, eating a spoonful along with her daughter.
"Me too – well, apart from me having a daughter, but more like, with my Mum that is." She shrugs, giggling.
"Did you and Clara ever do this?"
Madison shakes her head, "She was always too busy." She sighs softly, "Can I be honest with you without you getting upset?"
